Blood of a Werewolf: Love & Horror Fuse in Genre-Defying Series by T. Lynne Tolles.  Can You Really Trust the ‘Boys Next Door’?

San Jose, CA While vampires have rapidly become a staple of modern literature, many critics believe that they’re often-stereotypical use is due for literal new blood. Storming the scene with gusto and giving the world a narrative that is wholly-unique, T. Lynne Tolles is delighted to offer up ‘Blood of a Werewolf’.

The novel is the first part of the larger ‘The Blood Series’, set to add a refreshing twist to the worlds of witchcraft.

Synopsis:

Darby O’Rielly may look like a shy, quiet bookstore owner who waits up at night to make sure her fun loving little sister Rowan makes it home. But that would be a bad assumption if you intend to threaten her family and loved ones. If the deadly magic this witch possesses is unleashed, the whole neighborhood better watch out.
When two handsome brothers move next door, love blooms. Devon and Blake aren’t just hot, they’re vampires hunted by a man with unlimited wealth and vengeance.

When two handsome brothers move next door, love blooms. Devon and Blake aren’t just hot, they’re vampires hunted by a man with unlimited wealth and vengeance.
With these two atypical couples together, mayhem ensues. Darby is forced to use her new-found magic when hunters snatch Rowan to lure the brothers to their demise. A wreckless decision by the enemy transforms Rowan into a werewolf, throwing her new love Blake into a downward spiral. Werewolf terrors from childhood paralyze his judgment and send him packing, leading Rowan into the arms of a werewolf named Dean who helps ease her into the new life she’s forced to embrace.
As the author explains, her book is wholly unique.

“This is grassroots urban fiction with plenty of vampiric twists. It’s a story of love and lust unlike anything written before. While it’s intricate and chock-full of suspense, the narrative follows a classic storyline that will leave readers continually guessing,” says Tolles, a prolific writer.

Continuing, “It is part of a wider series, with volumes two and three already on the market. ‘Bloodstone Heart’ and ‘Deadman’s Blood’ continue this saga with even deeper insights into the arcane world.”

To date, reviews for the book have been extremely positive.

“I thoroughly enjoyed this fanciful story of love and horror. The book is beautifully written in good solid English which make it pleasure to read,” says Bruce Fox, reviewing the novel on Amazon.

Karen Deem was equally as impressed, adding, “Picked it up and could not put it down. I so enjoyed the story line and the people I feel I met and knew from reading. Some books you pick up and thumb through. This book I ingested it which means I read each word like I lived it, like a movie.”

No One Can Know

51 Years After Kennedy Assassination, Debut Novel Captures Flashpoint in American History

From author Adrienne LaCava, ‘No One Can Know’ is a complex new fiction release that combines almost a decade of meticulous research with an unflinching portrayal of a nation in chaos. LaCava’s talent for electrifying action, tightly woven mystery and sharply written characters have readers clamoring for answers… and a sequel.

For Immediate Release

Dallas, TX – On November 22nd, 1963, the President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, was gunned down as he traveled in a motorcade through a crisp autumn afternoon in Dallas, Texas.

In a split second, a nation was forever divided in two – before Kennedy was shot, and after. Some have called it the September 11th of its time.

To author of new novel, ‘No One Can Know’, Adrienne LaCava, the moment is forever seared into her consciousness and imagination.

“I’ve been called a ‘Camelot Junkie’,” says LaCava. “You could say I’m smitten with the Sixties, and nothing grabs my attention like the assassination of President Kennedy. It was a public slaughter, for all intents and purposes, and conspiracy theories still don’t get fairly examined. But I think it will eternally be known as one of the more fascinating events in history.”

No One Can Know’ is LaCava’s exploration of the time and its beating heart is the shattering loss of innocence that the United States experienced the day the President died. Throw in the theatrics of a dysfunctional family who are wrestling with their own issues, and you have a multifaceted story that has already earned dozens of five star ratings on Amazon.

Synopsis:

Weary of Cold War politics, CIA operative Gabriel Haines can't wait to leave the Company life for a job on his friend's isolated Texas ranch. All he needs to do is go to Dallas and seal the deal. But when President John F. Kennedy is assassinated just yards from where Haines stands, the former agent finds himself in tighter crosshairs than ever before. Keeping a low profile on the ranch couldn't come at a better time.

Motherless preteen Ivy Jean Pritchard is a worrier, but she's trying hard not to be suspicious when her father sends her to spend the weekend on a ranch with family she's never met. And with her troublemaker teenaged cousin, high-society aunt, and her uncle's mistress on the scene, it promises to be more than the western adventure Ivy had anticipated.

Now, marksmen have tracked Haines to the ranch, getting the entire family involved in something very adult and very worrisome. When the weekend turns deadly, Haines and Ivy Jean are the first to learn that secrets, especially those devised and perpetuated "for the good of us all," can breakdown a family--or a nation--in the blink of an eye.

For the author, writing this novel was more than just a labor of love – it was the culmination of years of encouragement from teachers, family members and other writers.

“I was told early on by an educator that I had a ‘voice’,” says LaCava. “It was only later in life that I fully appreciated what a compliment that was. It’s true that when I’m out and about, I can’t help but look at people and wonder – what are their problems, what are they thinking, what are they feeling? A writer’s curse, of course.”

It was only a chance event in the economy that allowed LaCava to pursue her dream.

“I am a former banker,” says the author. “In early ‘08, banking went bust and personally, I saw divine lining in the lost-job cloud. Graced with my husband’s generous support it was time to climb on that new career path I felt destined to follow. Time to employ that voice.”

Since its publication, the book has earned dozens of glowing reviews.

Calling the book a ‘tour de force’, Nik Winchester wrote: “Fantastic read. If you love this time period then you'll love this book, which centers around the assassination of JFK. Skillfully woven with deft craft & good characterization, Adrienne La Cava's book will stay with you long after you read it. I look forward to the next!”

“Gripping suspense wrapped in a coming-of-age story about a young girl finding her way after the assassination of JFK. Author has captured the times and the reader really feels like they have been plunked down in 1960s Texas. This one is a very entertaining yarn by an amazing first novelist. Can't wait to hear more about this young woman and her family,” wrote Pamela H. Lappin

Jeanie Brosius King wrote: “Those of us from Dallas, Texas will recognize the syntax, phrases and social mores common to our State. LaCava captures the feelings of confusion, fear, secrecy and turmoil of that fateful day, November 22, 1963, as well as the fallout surrounding it. A nation in disarray is reflected in her brilliantly wrought characters and their own personal discoveries. I find myself wondering about these people and their lives, after finishing this fine first novel. Do yourself a favor and buy this book!”

With readers crying out for a sequel, LaCava is hard at work on her second novel, set in equally tumultuous 1968, featuring some of the same characters from ‘No One Can Know’ and, LaCava promises, “lots of intrigue.”

No One Can Know’ is available now from Amazon: http://amzn.to/1d0Mr6o.

Excerpt

When he walked her back through the pond area of the hotels, his arm kept lightly brushing against hers. Quinn’s knees went weak as he bent down to kiss her goodnight outside her door. Her female area seemed to be doing a little dance inside. There was this clutching sensation. A reaching for something that wasn't there.

Quinn’s breathing went deeper as she nodded off to sleep. What she was feeling and thinking accompanied her into her dream state. Soon she found herself with Jacques once again. Only this time, they were in his room. The music was playing in the background and a cool breeze was blowing through the window. Her senses were heightened tenfold as she flew around the top of the room looking down on the two of them; as if witnessing a movie.

She wanted so bad to be in first person to experience the sensations, not flying at the top of the room in a detached position. As quick as she had that thought she was in her dream body enjoying Jacques lips and removing his clothes all at the same time. Completely lost in his touch, there were no thoughts, only sensations. She could feel him tense up in anticipation as she moved down his body ever so gently bypassing the throbbing she sensed to the sensitive area of his thigh.

BOOKS ~ Sounds of War

New novel exposes grim truths about Operation Iraqi Freedom

‘Sounds of War’ tells action-based story about one determined man’s dangerous journey in war-torn Iraq

Readers are invited to get an insider’s glimpse at the experiences of one man searching for the truth in Thomas’ Ferreolus’ new contemporary historical fiction, “Sounds of War: Iraq Attack of Thomas Edington” (published by AuthorHouse).

Set in Iraq’s tumultuous Al Anbar Province during Operation Iraqi Freedom, “Sounds of War” recounts the adventures of protagonist Thomas Edington and his dangerous journey, revealing the horrors of war in the process. “It’s totally an original story of the unspoken truths,” Ferreolus explains. An excerpt from “Sounds of War”:

“Thomas had not even taken two steps through the other side of the hedge, when to his surprise, he found himself standing on a large Persian rug. Looking down in disbelief, he stood amongst a large number of sleeping bodies, all spooning and snuggling with one another. He looked to his right and noticed that the entire team had frozen in a silence statuesque pose. They all looked down in a complete and utter astonishment. Amazed, Thomas struggled with the reality of the situation. He felt as if he had just walked into a time warp. However, with what had seemed like several minutes, only seconds had passed when Thomas thought, ‘How ancient these primitive people look, all sleeping under the stares.’”

Thomas Ferreolus is an outdoorsman who served during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He writes in the Pacific Northwest, where he resides with his wife and family. “Sounds of War” is his first published book and marks the start of a planned series. More information is available at www.thomasferreolus.com
